Empoli delivered another chapter of inclusion with the For Special Camp 2026, six days of football, smiles, and togetherness at the Monteboro Sports Center that left a mark on over 100 young participants with disabilities and the staff guiding them.

What happened at the For Special Camp?

From June 29 to July 4, 2026, the Monteboro Sports Center became a hub for sport, education, and human growth. Participants — mixing drills, matches, and recreational activities — experienced a unique week led by psychologists, educators, and healthcare workers. Danilo Oppedisano and Daniele Cerroni, head coach and assistant, guided the Empoli For Special team through a week of fun and solidarity.

The format repeated the success of past editions: sport as a tool for inclusion, with continuity in mind. The schedule mixed technical exercises, friendly matches, and bonding moments, all backed by a multi-disciplinary team. Empoli Academy Special — the club’s year-round project — ensured the experience didn’t end in summer but became a weekly fixture every Monday.

Why it matters for Empoli

The For Special Camp isn’t just a summer event; it’s part of the club’s DNA. Empoli launched it in 2022 with Empoli For Charity, and each edition deepens ties between the team and the community. The final match vs Livorno For Special capped the week with a symbolic gesture: football as a universal language, breaking barriers and building bridges.

The club, currently 15th in Serie B with 41 points and a -7 goal difference after 38 games, shows that its commitment goes beyond on-field results. Monza 2-2 Empoli (May 8, 2026) was the last league outing, yet the club keeps investing in projects that leave a lasting impact. The goals? Play, fun, and inclusion, with constant focus on activity quality and professional oversight.
